Have forum members had issues with paintwork problems?

ive got a metallic silver CX-5 which is less than 2 years old. Recently I was removing a triple splash off bird pooh - 2 splashes on the roof and 1 on the tailgate spoiler. The 3 splashes came from the same incident. The 2 splashes on the metal roof came off with no issue but the one on the tailgate spoiler which is plastic resulted in the paint peeling. I have referred the issue to Mazda and they simply say their warranty doesn’t cover bird pooh deposits even though I pointed out that 2 out of 3 deposits were removed without problem.

I have had a range of vehicles over the last 40+ years and never known the paintwork to peel.

I would appreciate any reasonable advice how I can progress my complaint.
