Window visors are a very handy utility part that can increase the QOL (quality of life) with your car. Many window visors exist in marketplace, but many are of inferior quality or offer limited practicality which can turn people off altogether.

In Japan, window visors are an extremely popular item, with visors being used on a large majority of cars used in the country. As a result, many companies have been able to develop very high quality visors due to the market demand. Tokyo based company Autoexe is one such company to make Mazda-specific visors. Autoexe's relationship with Mazda is so close that Autoexe parts and accessories can be seen on Mazda's Japanese website and are even sold and installed at Mazda dealerships across Japan.

The most apparent use of window visors is to allow you to ventilate the windows when it begins to rain, as the seal created by the visor at the top stops rainwater from entering the vehicle. As this is generally understood as the primary reason to buy window visors, many people who live in areas where rainfall is less frequent (ex. Southern California) have shied away from using them. For us being based in Southern California, we have managed to see an extensive benefit from using these visors on our CX-5 due to Autoexe's ingenuity.

By using a mix of real life and laboratory testing, Autoexe's engineers have managed to make their visors highly effective at ventilating hot air from inside the cabin, which is very useful during hot summer seasons where the interior of the car can get hot very quickly. These side visors have ben specially design to use negative pressure to push out air from inside the vehicle, with the effect being dependent on the car's speed. A special duct on the side of the visor makes sure air exits the car cleanly while a special rubber strip at the bottom of the visor stops vented air from coming back into the car.

Translation: For most effective ventilation, lower the window so that the edge is slightly above the rubber strip. Switch the HVAC controls to introduce outside air with the rear window rolled all the way up.

To ensure excellent fitment and that these visors last for as long as you keep the vehicle, the visors are constructed from injection molded acrylic resin with a smoked finish. Autoexe visors use a two-point attachment system to make sure that these visors stay on once installed. Many lower end visors use a single attachment system which involves installing the visor in the window channel or using double sided tape. Autoexe visors use weather resistant double sided tape and a twin pin system on each visor to ensure these visors do not come off.

Please note that Autoexe does not manufacture visors for the CX-9, as the car is not sold in Japan. The RX-8 kit is 2 pieces instead of four.
