alright. my mate has given me coilover sleeves. i really want to lower my mk1 for the look but am unsure of any other effects? it is a really good handling car and want to keep it that way. will lowering it change the handling. i know for most cars it improves the handling but i just want to get advice before i do anything.. thanks

RE: lowering a mk1 mx5

[font=californainfb]If the alignment specs can be maintained w/the new springs, you will lower the center of gravity which is always a good thing asfar as handling.
The downside (and there is always a compromise) is the ride will be stiffer than it already is, with coiloversit's usually pretty significant, and groundclearance will be reduced. You'll need to be much more careful and watch out for steeply graded driveways, speed bumps and parking lot berms.
