A pretty stock question, but itdepends on your situation and how much you want to spend... how far you want to go.
Springs are usually a first choice (stay away from the cheap so-called "jdm" branded ones on eBay.)
Upgraded anti-sway bars. Progress (rear only); Eibach (F&R set); Whiteline and; Racng Beat are considered the standards.
Shocks/Struts. Koni "Yellow" Sports; Bilstein.
And of course, don't forget to replace the OEM tires,and/or wheels. This has been the most neglected area of street/daily driver suspension upgrades until recently. Tires alone make a huge difference.
To go further, a set of coilovers will do struts/shocks and springs all in one, but they are expensive ($900-1500/set) and offer a much harsher ride. They will also usually lower the car more than most would want to go on a street car.

yupp. pretty much wat vrigin said.
lowering your car will make the ride a bit stiffer/bumpier.
and the more you lower the car, the more stiffer everything gets.
this will also reduce body roll, since your lowering the overall height of the car.
however. if you lower your car, you will, at some point, need new shocks/struts because you put extra force on the shocks. and they wear out faster. again, they will wear out faster if you lower the car more.
sway bars will help to reduce the amount of body roll as well.
after that, you can also get strut mount bars, which mount on top of the front struts, and do the same job as a sway bar kit.
and then if your really serious, you can get under car bracing.
during hard cornering and such, the car will flex. bracing everything reduces this, and makes the car even more stable.
*if im wrong about any of this, its cuz its 2am, and ive been up since 8am.... lol
