Question Loud, rapid clicking noise behind glove box!

Recently bought a used 2004 Mazda MPV-ES with 143k miles. Great ride and has been impeccably maintained by the 2 previous owners.
Recently "something" behind the glove box began making a loud, rapid clicking noise while the ignition is on and it only stops when I unplug the sensor connection attached to a plastic gray/white "box".

Trying to figure out WHAT the "box" is WHY it's making this noise?? Here's the sticker on it.

Parts label on the "plastic box"

Looks like the fresh air / recirculated air flap actuator.
