He got a nice push from Jeff Gordon on last 2 laps-Green White Checker, then it was Checkers or Wreckers! Both happened on last lap, wrecking behind.
Denny Hamlin came in 2nd close to winning all 3 races he was in!

Tony Stewart had Fuel Pump issues after the long 6 hour heavy rain delay. Martin Truex Jr and Clint Bowyer had engine problems. Austin Dillon in the famous #3 car did finish 9th (1 worse than Danica last year as a rookie) but he was involved, caused a crash or 2). Danica got hit and crashed (not her fault, she was doing well).

$$$$$$$$$: The purse for this year's Daytona 500 will be $19,784,864, with at least $1,454,600 awarded to the race winner. The second-place finisher is guaranteed to collect $1,071,125, while the third-place finisher gets $780,225. Last year's purse for the Daytona 500 was $19,346,972. Johnson had a $1,525,275 payday for his victory.
