92-95 Civic Sedan Revival
I am somewhat lucky on Mazda and can do my own warranty with the exception of safety recalls .No one touches my vehicles unless I have absolutely no choice .
I am already running my own head and some one off parts in it that are also of my doings.Like my cams and my special CNC spring retainers for the unique valve springs I use in place of Mazda OEM ones. And a few other unmentionable mods which I am sure you already know what. I was extremely careful not to mare any of the fasteners and purchased a few new ones that I made marks when I removed them. I never used an impact and only used 5 point sockets. You would never be able to tell that the head had been changed externally looking at it. I even used the yellow inspection marking die in the exact area of factory inspection location to further hiding the head change . How do you think I got the whp I claim in my signature ?
Btw I had to stop there for fear of breaking the stock transmission case. lol. I have that sorted out with another transmission that will be going in next year. Myself and another auto engineer are working on a locking unit for the differential. The peg leg sucks for off the line performance one tire traction does not cut it in my world lol. I installed N20 but limited to a 30 shot which helps but not as fun as say 75 shot. But there’s the transmission case again that would break. All easy issues to be cure in good time. Oh and no I did not use the N20 to get the number below.

[QUOTE=Callisto;241496] Like my cams and my special CNC spring retainers... /QUOTE]
Ok, Callisto... you have my attention with this post. I am sure you wrote it with the intention of it being understood and it is....
I need a camshaft re-grind. For a couple of off topic 4 cylinder engines but 1 FE 2.0 too. What business would you recommend post covid? I have gotten zero responses from any that I have emailed. Raleigh and Charlotte are dominated by the v8 and nascar circuit, so I am priced out of that market. Delta cams has been silent for me, personally. You are on the better coast, except the voc list. 😆

The thing you gotta be careful is that to do it correctly the stock cam(s) need to be rolled up . This measures everything on the stock cam. Then you need to be specific of rpm power band. Either lower end mid or top end . You can’t have all three. Without those steps the machinists is only guessing what will work well in your engine.
Many camshafts offered from cam companies are more often then known, customer requests that the grinder technically owns the rights to offer them if they choose in their line of camshafts.
I suggest to contact CROWER CAMs. I personally know their lead machinist and he is good at guessing a grind if you give him realistic use and expectations .
The alternative is an adjustable camshaft gear.
Or just roll the dice and use a house offered performance regrinds.
