2003 mazda protege mazdaspeed need help!!
 

Ok i recently seen this car for the first time didnt even know they had the popular 2.0l engine on top turbocharged for a 170hp range and a 14.9-1/4. Now my question is this car is in great condition its bluebook is at 9400 and it has 108,719 i was told not to buy boosted cars with high mileage. Is there any problems i should look for in this car? It is a manual and i was also wondering how much boost can the stock motor handle and what can i do to upgrade simple so i dont have to do internals? bolt-ons is basically what im asking and what is available i would like to buy this car to get filmiliar with turbos!!! please get back to me

so nobody has a answer to this after how many days? this is a mazda forum your supposed to steer people towards your cars/trucks products etc.... wow

hey man, I am suprised that there is someone on a Mazda forum that doesnt know about the MSP (MazdaSpeed Protege)... they are great cars, they were the first of the MazdaSpeeds. they come with 1300+ upgrades from the regular Protege... I own one I have 89K on my stock motor but shes going threw a build what type of questions do you have?

oh and BTW check out Mazdas247.com, Its an all mazdas site...even the speeds, you will be able to find a plethera of info there, but it may be easer to post questions here for me to answer... , I am suprised that this forum has nothing for the speeds...

People know about them, but there aren't many people on this particular forum with the Mazdaspeed Protege. This is a relatively small forum compared to others out there, but there are some Speed3 & Speed6 owners on here that I'm aware of.

Typically you need to worry about the turbos being worn out and leaking with high mileage (goes for any turbo vehicle.) Although if you're a handy mechanic, there's nothing that can't be fixed. Look for leaks, check the oil condition, check any maintenance records available, etc.

4-cylinder engines are great for learning how to work on engines. (Internal or external)
