skyactiv 3 wagon owner

I've had my skyactiv3 wagon for 5 months now... gonna hit 7500 miles this weekend, so I am getting ready for its first oil change. that's how I found this forum.

so far the 3 has been my daily commuter, 40 miles round trip...

what I like about it:
great mpg
handles great
nimble and responsive
it looks great too!

what I don't like about the skyactiv3:
too light, feels unstable at times.
harsh/bumpy ride, sometimes I get carsick in it.
using the blue tooth, when i hang up on a call, it makes a loud BEEP sound... I wish there's a way to turn it off...

it's a lease, I'm pretty sure I won't keep it after 3 years... can't live with the harsh/bumpy ride... It's now strictly a commuter single driver for me. when I need to bring passengers I take my other cars...

Unfortunately there is a trade off between nimble, responsive with good handle which is offset by a harsher ride generally speaking.
You said it looks great, we'd love to see pics. I own a Mazda 6 Wagon.

Will wash it and snap a few pictures this weekend.
There weren't really any 'flashy' colors to choose from, so I got the sky blue... definitely better than white/silver/gray ;-)

sky blue skyactiv3 wagon... just did the first oil change today! at 7,665 miles there was no reminder or warning light from the dash info screen... maybe it's not a feature...

the filter was super tight to remove, I had to run to the store to buy a filter removal wrench... other than that the oil change was easy and smooth. the filter is right next to the drain plug, very friendly design!

What engine oil did you use?

In NZ and OZ there is a service reminder and tyre rotation monitor as standard on all 2011 onwards Mazda 3.

Love that color Blue. Mine is a darker blue, wishing mine was a bit lighter. Looks like you've got a nice garage too!

I used 0w20 mobile and OEM filter from the dealer.
I think the service reminder needed to be turned on or initialized at the dealer when they get the car?

I picked up my car right when it was being rolled off the truck from the port. They didn't even have time to prep it. That's probably why.

Thanks man, I had to search around for this blue skyactiv. I guess they don't make as many as silver/gray/white. Which surprised me cuz they show this blue in the Mazda website gallery! Lol...
