Hi,

After a 30 year love affair with Alfa Romeo , advancing years, and no small Alfas with four doors, I have joined the Mazda community, with a 2015 Mazda2 sport Black 11 . It's not so big, or so fast but it is a nice colour. I look forward to getting help with any problems that might arise, like having only one key fob.

Congrats on your Mazda. Don't be sad. Mazda's are fun and reliable!

Why only one key fob?

It only came with one from Evans Halshaw. Best price I have found is £217. Not cheap

I hope so. First reccommendation for a Mazda2 came from "HonestJohn". My local garage said dont buy a Mazda. My wife liked it as it's 300mm shorter than the Alfa and not so quick, so I got the Mazda. £60 less insurance and £10 less road tax, don't know about mpg yet. Sure I will get to love it.

Ahhh, I see you bought your Mazda2 as a used car; looks like you're going to need to lay down some cash and buy a new fob.

Welcome to the forum. I understand your disappointment with the need to move on from Alfa Romeo. I would feel the same way if Mazda stopped selling small cars and I had to move on to something else. I also understand your impression of the speed of your new Mazda. We have a 2016 Scion iA which is manufactured by Mazda and sold as the Mazda 2 in other parts of the world. Ours is the sedan version with a hideous Scion front end, but I digress. We love the Mazda 2. it is a little underpowered, however, the handling, quality of materials and level of equipment made it far superior to anything else we considered.

I suspect that you will find over time that the Mazda will be trouble free for many years. Most Mazdas need only routine maintenance for trouble free driving. I hope that you come to appreciate Mazda as you have Alfa.

As for the replacement cost of the key fob, while I have not shopped for one myself, the price seems way too high. I googled it and found a price 1/4 of what you were quoted. Mazda parts are not typically excessive.

Good luck and welcome to the forum and Mazda ownership.

Thanks for that, I'm sure you are right. I now have the steering wheel at the correct position, tyres the right pressure , The handling seems good, just have to get used to not having a 2L turbo diesel .
