Newbie Leasing Question
Hi Everyone-
I apologize if this is the wrong forum for my question. If it is, maybe someone can direct me to the right place.
My local dealerships are offering a "$1550 Mazda Customer Lease Support" on the lease of a Mazda3. How does this $1550 factor into my lease negotiations? Do I negotiate a price and then get the $1550 off of that? Do I have to qualify for it in some way?
Thanks for any advice. Hopefully by the end of this weekend I will join the Mazda3 Nation.

First of all, unless there are really special circumstances involved, I would never recommend leasing a vehicle if you can buy one... even a used one.
That said, think of the $1500 as trade-in value. Do not consider it in your original negotiations, but instead as a bonus. Do the negotiations and do not even think about it. Don't bring it up at all.
If the salesman's does, tell him/her that that is not even a consideration at this point in the deal. Play it down, then bring it up at the end. If he/she insists, get up as if to walk out, and do that if you must. They will have your info by then and if you are a good candidate, they will call YOU.
Remember that it's Mazda that's offering the deal, not your dealer. They are being reimbursed accordingly by Mazda.
