Default New Motor

Good evening. Anyone have any suggestions where to get a new/used motor for a 2005 RX8 shinka?
Im In the Tampa, FL area.
Will any Rx 8 motor fit the shinka model? It’s an automatic.
I’m told the engine is bad due to low compression. I know this has been a known issue with these cars. Has anyone else experienced this and what avenues did you take? Does Mazda stand behind this issue or is it better to scrap it? Thanks

Take it to Mazda for a compression test, you can't use a conventional compression tester on a rotary. Depending on the results of the compression test, you can "hydro clean" the engine to remove carbon build up on the apex seals.

I took it to Mazda and it failed their compression test. This was an issue in 2016 where it was low on the instrument used to measure the compression but Mazda said it was not to their measurements for replacement at the time. It was slightly off... I will as about the hydro clean and see what they say. They have already said I need a new motor and it would cost 11k to fix. Thanks for the feed back
