It was not intended to be. It was a refernce to the late '70's-early '80's TV show, the Dukes of Hazzard. As played by Catherine Bach, the "sister" in the show, Daisy Duke, always wore cut-off jeans with pantyhose. It became something of a universal joke since no one wears cut-offs like that... no one in their right mind at least.

No, not particularly. It was a stupid sitcom that I lived through. Mindless TV.
But w/your chosen user name and my memory, I couldn't resist the connection. I thought you would get the joke right away. Sorry I was wrong.
So DD, can you forgive me for seeming to be rude??

I grew up in snow and ice, and as a kid (of course) didn't seem to mind it that much. But since moving much further south 15yrs ago, anything below 65*F... say 18*C, I'm cold, and it has been cold here so far this winter (12*F/-11*C one morning.)
I'm nursing a cold from the cold right now!!

Its an '04 Mz3 HB. Some, including Mazda call it a 5-dr, while others, well we won't talk about them..... (Shuddup Jaimie.)

=15C (5*F!!!) And you said it wasn't that cold in Scotland.
Actually, I grew up further north than Texas, where I live now, and anything from 0 (-18C) to 30* (-1C) was normal for this time of year... not that Iliked it.

We rarely get any snow or ice here in south-central Texas and when we do I don't drive in it. I'm sure my car wouldn't be all that great in the snow anyway but its the other "Texans" that I'm afraid of. They slow down to a crawl when we get a little rain shower. I would hate to see how they drove in the snow and ice. Hence I stay at home when bad weather comes around and will probably never know for sure.
