as the heading suggests,I am about to be the proud owner of a Mazda5 2ltrts2 diesel.It ticks all the "right" boxes for me but theres one area I couldnt find info on.So I was wondering if any of you out there could help me...
The main role of my mazda will be for towing.Do any of you tow with a Mazda 5ts2? If so,I would love to read your comments/experiences and what weights you tow.

Not recommneded and you will not be able to pull more than 1000lbs, I'm sure.

 

Thanks for your input but I am intriged as to how you got that 1000lbs figure.The kerb weight of the Mazde5 Ts2 is 1547kgs. The 85% recommended rule for towing would then put the tow"load" to about 1300kgs.This weightcombined with the 147bhp,should have little problems with towing.

Because your car and mine are very, VERY similar. If anything mine has a bit more power and a little less weight. I drug this trailer for 1640 miles and would not recommend it to anyone. I will never do that in that way again to my car. It was miserable.

 

Thanks for that but still in dilema!kerb weight of vechicle 1542kgs mtplm of van 1284kgs.85% rule gives 1310kgs which is well below the 1400kgs tow limit as per mazda tech help line.
WWW.whattowcar.com gives tow % at 86%. C&CC tech expert gives the tow at 85%. So,when comparing other cars of similar weights and engines,please could you explain to me,why the mazda5Ts2 2ltre petrol 146bhp,cannot tow at 85%??.I just dont understand!
