New to Mazda
I have done extensive research on what car I want to buy and I'm almost sure that I am going to purchase a 2023 CX-5 carbon addition, this model does not have a turbo charger. I was hoping to find out if I can professionally install an aftermarket turbocharger after properly optimizing the engine to accept one, also, I am willing to save and spend the money to install a performance chip, forged steal pistons, new exhaust, down pipe, basically a whole aftermarket performance overhaul professionally tuned by an expert(optimized for reliability). Is this going to cause me to also change the transmission? Is the 6 speed automatic good enough for this? Can the engine block even handle this kind of work? Do I need to report the engine to get the performance that I want or would I need to install a whole new racing engine? I want to save up($12,000-$20,000) and overhaul the vehicle after I exhaust my warranty(3-5 years) so I am in no rush to get a turbo as the turbo models are about 7 grand more than what I can spend at the moment as I am trying to minimize financing as much as possible. Is this not a good vehicle for this kind of tuning, would a professional be able to work with this engine? Should I just suck it up and buy one of the cx-5s with the turbo already installed? I heard that factory turbo's are not very good and do not provide the performance boost that is advertised, is this true? Also, I need to take the time to educate myself on tuning while I save up $$$ before I invest that kind of money into it. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.
