So I bought a 2006 Mazda . Love it . Fun to drive. I'm from Wisconsin.I was thinking about increasing horse power. Or should I just swap out engines? I like the look w body kits. Before this i had a 67 impala and a 74 impala. But this little thing is fun to drive!! Just wanted to make it a little faster. The impalas i bought ready to go. Not really knowledgeable when it comes to cars other than simple things brakes ect.Anyway i was looking for some feedback.

First question, which version of the Mazda3 do you have? The options are "i" or "s", the former came with a 2.0 liter engine, the latter came with a 2.3 engine. The "s" models have a larger (and less reliable) engine and larger/better brakes.

Cool, in your shoes I'd opt for the Duratec 2.5 swap.

6 cyl ? Or is it 4 or does come both 4 and six? Guess I'm learning . Thanks for the info .

Mazda3s have only ever come with an Inline-4 engine. The Ford Duratec 2.5 is an almost exact clone of the 2.3 in your car, however, in addition to extra displacement, the 2.5 has quite a number of internal upgrades which makes the engine significantly more reliable.
