Mazda CX-5 rear after market camera
There must have been topics on this but I can't find much info on what i wish to acheive. I have a Mazda SE L NAV CX-5 2015 I believe it is the earlier model, which does not have a camera. I have purchased a camera from Aliexpress which is 12v and it shows it just fits straight on, connecting 12v to the camera via a relay, ground and a blue wire from the reverse light to pin 4 at the back of head unit; but I have read that the stock head unit only takes 6v to activate the rear camera; and if I connect the blue wire supplied from the reverse light that would be 12v so I was going to put on a rectifier to bring it back to 6v. One problem I can't get in my head is - at the moment the parking sensors seem to work when in reverse and I get an image on the screen. On the newer models I believe the rear camera shows with a parking sensor image inside the camera screen, this would not happen on my system and I am wondering if both images would conflict with each other. I like the parking image and don't really want to lose it and don't want to use second screen. Any idea's, has anyone done this before? This is what I purchased.
