Mazda 3 owner looking for mechanic

Hi all.

My name is Geoff and I live in Walsall, Midlands in the UK.

Many years ago I had a Mazda RX-8 and loved it, unfortunately, I only had it for about 2 years when it was written off after an RTA along with another car no injuries luckily but my RX-8 was too badly damaged to warrant repair. So after going through a few other cars between then and now over the last 4 or so years, drive a 59 plate Mazda (MK 1) 1.6 diesel.

My Mazda has an issue that seems to be a fuel issue. The car has had a slight problem for a long time when it would most mornings or after sitting for a while (cold or hot didn't matter the weather) that the car would start normal and after 2 or 3 seconds would cut out and then take a long time cranking again straight after to get going again sometimes even to the point to flatten the battery but once it is running again stay running fine after until next time it's been standing for a while. I had it looked at by a mechanic before, he checks the fuel system, bleeding the fuel, etc but didn't seem to find an issue after I had the car back the issue seem to have gone away for a while. Now a bigger issue a few days ago where I was driving the engine started to lose power then after a little while off and on and then completely cut out when I started the engine again seems to only run on tick over if I accelerated it would stall and cut out I had to drive the car home on tick over as soon as I accelerated it cuts out. I got the car home and after a couple of days it seemed fine, but now after driving for a while, it starts to lose power just like it's going to cut out again, so I ease off the pedal, and it keeps running for now, but this issue seems to be getting worse.

I cannot take it back to the original mechanic who looked at it before, as he has moved or closed. So I am looking for another mechanic ideally in the Cheslyn hay / Cannock / Walsall / Wolverhampton area or local as I don't really want to drive it too far with this problem or possibly a mobile mechanic that will come to me in Cheslyn Hay that can repair the issue or at the very least diagnose and identify the issue, so I know how to proceed. Possibly somebody with the relevant diagnostic equipment and know-how, as I mentioned I already had one diesel engine specialist look into this issue but didn't seem to know what the problem was.

Please reply to this thread if you are willing and able to take a look at this issue or know somebody who might.

Took the car to a local garage and got the fuel sensor replaced and fixed the problem
