Infotainment screen in 2016 cx5
I bought my car in March, and drove regular for about 3 months. I haven't driven it much in the past 6 weeks. I live in Texas and in the last 6 weeks we have had highs of 95-110 and my car has been sitting in my driveway in the afternoon and evening sun. I got in it today and noticed a large crack in the infotainment screen that wasn't there before. It has not been hit and rarely gets used. I don't even use the touchscreen, I use the controls between the seats on the console. Could the heat have caused the screen to crack? I live on a dirt road also, 6 miles round trip to pavement anytime I leave. I just don't understand what would have caused this. Anyone have an idea?

My bet would be the heat and perhaps direct sun. 110 outside would mean something like 160 in the car. Day after day, that would put a lot of stress on the electronics.
Is it still under warranty - If so Mazda should replace it. |
