Default Hello and good day MF!

Hello!

I've been a lurker here for awhile now because my wife and I have been looking at trading in our Jeep Liberty for a car. So, I naturally steered to the online forum world to see what other people have been honestly dealing with.

Well, I think we found us one that will fit our needs and wantsSo, probably this week my wife will pick up a 2008 Mazda6 s 5-Door, Sport Value Edition. Now here's the thing I have a question on... MSRP: $24,545 for the particular car we are looking at. But, we've got them to go down to $19,747.49. In ya'lls opinion is this a fair deal? Personally, I think we are actually getting a steal but you guys have been around Mazda's way longer than I have.. so, any input would be great

I won't be able to pick the car with herbecause I'm deployed right now.. LOL! That kinda makes it hard for to do a test drive; but, if my wife can slap through gears better Dale Jarrett then I think I'm just fine.. LOL! Plus, (just to get some brownie points if she's reading this) she looks really sexy when she's under the hood too!

This looks like a great community to be a part of as well and hopefully if I can pay my dues maybe ya'll could be gracious enough to let me stay.

Everyone have fun and looking foward to chatting and posting!

-Mike

It does sound like a great deal to me too.
However, I would avoid the V6 models. They are more Ford than Mazdaand seem to experiencemore problems than the Japanese built ones.
Both engine and auto tranny have been sighted.
If you look at recent reliability figures, the 6 series rates only good (average) while the 3 series rates very good (above average.) After reading these forums (and the5 others I am on) I believe this difference is directly related to the DuroTech drive train. The four may not be as powerful, or have the bragging rights of the 6, but is more reliable.
But, that is only my opinion. Then again, you could drive it for a long time, and a lot of miles and not experience any problems.

As I'd said, only my opinion.
