Default Greetings from a fellow Mazda enthusiast!

Hi everyone,

Stumbled upon this forum recently, and just wanted to say hello to everyone. I have been a long time miata owner and have always enjoyed Mazda's in all their forums.

I also put together this video of the new Mazda 6 SkyActiv, and wasn't sure where to put this video as I didn't see a "video" section.

Hope you guys enjoy! Please let me know what you think

Jonathan

Welcome.
Very high quality production video. Love the use of animations and the removal of the engine cover. Your voice is very clear and good talking speed. I didn't hear the 0-60 time? You did say it won't win drag races, but a 0-60 time should be mentioned as well as stopping distance compared to last model. I know it's only a 4 cylinder but .....
You did mention weight @ 3200, what was weight of last model in a 4 cylinder? How much did they improve?
1 thing that annoyed me was your mediocre speed coming off the snake off ramp from highway. You said you enjoyed it but were you doing ramp speed or just a little faster? Normally when a ramp speed says 50 km/hr I like to do 50 mph. On a circle ramp I've done 50 mph.
As far as the car is concerned, I still don't like the wheel gaps. Needs to be lowered. How is the noise level inside the car? (Some people like it quiet, I don't----I like intake, exhaust, stereo booming, how's the stereo?).
Rating 9 out of 10, good job.

Thanks UseYourNoggin - appreciate the kind words!

This might sound weird to you, but I generally don't use 0-60 times in my car reviews because I find the feeling of speed isn't quite captured by this statistic. The feeling of speed can be dependent on how low to the ground you are, how much noise insulation the car has, torque & power curve etc. FYI - the 0-60 time is ~8s, which is decent for a midsize car, but not neck snapping by any means.

The original Mazda 6 launched in 2002 weighed ~3300lbs (but the car was quite a bit smaller), and successive version was about ~3500lbs (still a smaller car).

As for your comment about the "mediocre" speed coming of the highway; I deliberately didn't show the speed as I was driving on public roads (this may sound lame, but I typically try to keep the higher speed stuff to a racetrack); but I thought the handling was surprisingly good given the size of the car - something I was not expecting.

As far as ride height is concerned; well you have to remember that this is a mid-size sedan, not a sports car and as such most people want something that can be a smooth cruiser (which would require some suspension travel to avoid bottoming out). The Bose sound system was pretty decent, but that is purely my opinion and you may find it inadequate. I guess that is the joy of customization

I hope I was able to address your comments in a satisfactory way - once again appreciate the feedback!

-Jonathan
