Finally introducing myself
 

I am a long time Mazda owner and have been on the forum for a few months and it's about time I introduce myself.

My first Mazda was a new 1986 B2000. In 85, the Japanese auto manufacturers implemented quotas to limit the number of Japanese cars sold in the US. Mazda tied the number of cars a dealership could get to the number of trucks they sold making great deals on trucks. Mazda did a major redesign of the B2000 and it was a great first new car. Twenty or so years or so later I had a MPV as company car. I loved it but changed jobs 6 months later and lost it. I replaced the MPV with a 2004 6 S Sport. I now drive a 2015 Mazda 3 2.5 Touring and I purchased a 2016 Scion Ia (Mazda 2 in other countries) for the kids. I have strayed from Mazda a few times (1992 Eagle Talon, a 1998 Dodge Stratus, a pair of 2011 Hyundai Sonatas, and a 2006 MINI Cooper S Convertible), however, I don't see myself driving anything other than Mazdas (or perhaps BMWs) as daily drivers.

I'm not a mechanic, and therefore, cannot provide technical knowledge and I haven't had many significant problems in my roughly 400,000 Mazda miles, however, I hope to contribute to the forum as a long term Mazda fan.

Cool, thanks for the intro. We owned a 2005 Mazda 3 for about 5 years. Great handling and fun-to-drive, but a lot of road noise and not that impressive crash test results. Mazda's have come a long way since then. We currently own a 2018 Mazda CX-5 AWD (very good crash test results and very quiet) and a 2016 VW Golf TSI.
