CX-5 manual liftgate

Today the manual liftgate on my 2016 CX-5 wouldn't unlock. The book said to use a screwdriver to unlock it from inside, so I did that. Now I'm supposed to take it to the dealer to have it checked. Any thoughts?

Take it to the dealer for diagnostic & repair.
