96 b4000 front pass axle

96 b4000 front pass axle

My 96 b4000 has decided it needs a new u-joint in the front passenger side axle , outer u-joint. I'm wondering is that axle held in the diff. by a clip or can I just yank it free , to facilitate that u-joint swap out?
