2013 cx5 diesel head gasket
I have read many tales f woe from other users re head gaskets. I recently bought a 2013 cx5 for my daughters first car. 126k. Great car and was going well. Went todrive to Melbourne Airport. Temp light came on. Stopped car. let it cool down and light went off. Got to carlsruhe and light back on. stopped at servo and left car there. Eventually got car to bendigo mazda, a plastic pipe at front of motor had broken. eplaced by mazda bendigo. car going fine. 2 weeks later driving to Wangaratta check engine light , oil light came on. Pulled into BP glenrowan. checked oil, low so added a litre. All good. on return to bendigo check engine light on but no issues that i could see. Took it to bendigo mazda again. Ta Da. head gasket apparently gone. after almost 2 months finally got the answer that mazda wont repair. 10k for head gasket and 18k for new engine.???
What i want to know before i camp outside Mazda HQ is how many other owners have had this issue with the view to class action.
Need model, year and issue. Was it fixed by Mazda.
Thanks. Can email me if you want. murray.porter@outlook.com

I'm confused......so you're not the original owner of a 2013 year model Mazda (no need to mention the specific model) and you have no idea how many other owners the vehicle has had, nor what has been done to said vehicle......that has over 126,000 miles or KM.......and the head gasket blows......(confused part here) and you want Mazda to fix it??? If I was in your shoes, I would have never even thought of taking it to Mazda to fix it for me. It is not their problem really.......it's a well used car with multiple past owners at this point!
Did you purchase an extended warranty from Mazda? Or some warrantee company?

Only 1 previous owner with full service history. a head gasket should not go at 126k and yes i want mazda to fix it because i am not the only one this has happened to both in Aus and worlwide
I am sorry to read what happened to you....
Honestly the best ion your case is to get your Dealership to give you a discount on parts and labor or just get the service done at an independent service shop. You are out of warranty and there are no true active class action suits, recalls for second or more owners of this model. It is a number game and there is not enough issue to pinpoint a manufacturing issue based on where all the models were manufactured as well the total number produced during the time period and the number of actuate blown head gaskets.
Get angry or negative on forums like this Mazda based forum service no real purpose. We understand your frustration but there is nothing any forum or forum member can do except read and feel for your frustration.
Good luck

I traded in my Wife's 2018 Ford Escape a couple of years ago. We bought it new in 2019, from a local Ford dealership because it was discounted for not being sold yet......it did have a couple of hundred miles on it as the Dealer used it to pick up and drop off service work clients......the car had never been titled. We put 30,000 miles on it in 4 years. Several years into the ownership of the Escape, I noticed that the car was using a slight amount of engine coolant. I placed some masking tape on the overflow reservoir and marked the level(s) when the engine was totally cold. It was definitely using coolant. I started reading all I could on the internet about coolant loss in these vehicles......turns out Ford has some big issues with their 1.5L Ecoboost (and several other) engines! The engine was a time bomb, and I knew it. Ford actually stepped up and extended the engine warranty for these vehicles that had the suspect engines, although there was a process that you had to go through. The Wife loved the car, but I convinced her to trade it in, and I'm sure glad we did!
Why I mentioned this, is it doesn't matter who makes the vehicle these days.....ALL manufactures have engine issues it seems, and I think it stems from them having to meet unrealistic fuel economy requirements.....just my opinion. Today the vehicle consumer has to be very aware of what they are buying, because the cost to buy, and then fix major issues like you're having, certainly hits you hard financially.
Good luck with your Daughter's car, and I at least hope your local Mazda Dealer can help you some with the repairs.
