Default 05 3 steal

I'm new to the forum and new to mazda so hopefully this place can help if I need any.I just boght an '05 3 for my wife because shes been bugging me for about a year and I found such a deal I couldnt pass it up(42K miles for $7G's tax title and fees). We've had it 3 days now and I've already done a dual exhaust set up and got some wheels ordered. I must say having never owned a mazda previous to thursday, they are one of the most simplistically arranged imports I have came across. My buddy has an SVT focus that we supercharged and I was expecting an engine bay and set up similar to his nightmarishly tight car. Quite the opposite though. I'm definitely looking forward to modding this car... against the better wishes of my wife. haha.

I don't think I'll make it that fast, but I can hope. Unfortunately it is going to be our family car so the performance will be kept to a minimum in exhchange for fuel economy. My short term plans are a mild sounding cat-back, cold air w/ K&N, 17" wheels, HID fogs and possibly some audio upgrades. If I'm real stealth I can make it faster without here even knowing. haha.

Oh I forgot to mention, I'm also required to put a stock-style wing on it because, in the words of my wife, "Those make it way cuter"... women.

Yeah, I know... In spite of my knowledge of automobiles my wife has been threatening that her next car is going to be a New Beetle. I've told her that VW's ain't what they use to be, thatGerman car reliability in general ain't what it used to be and that VW is bottom of the heap. She STILL insists that because it's "cute" she will have one.

Well I'm a service manager, I could fax some copies of the repair bills and absolute electrical nightmares we've got into on those things. Just the other day we had a 1.8T jetta come in with no oil pressure. We called VW and they said "yeah, the oil pick up is plugged, they do that. It needs a pump and pick up." We had to drop the cradle and the lady paid almost $800.... very cute. haha.
