04 tribute 2.0 misfiring

It started as a none running vehicle. It has a manual transmission. I changed the crank sensor out, and now it runs. I have also changed the coil pack, spark plugs, and wires. After all that was changed out I got a misfire code for cylinder 4. I changed out the fuel injector, and now it wont give me any codes, it is still missing. I have changed out all the vacuum lines checked the pcv valve. I have also checked the mass air flow sensor and cleaned it. when I unplug the maf sensor the car dies. I have also unplugged the iac motor and the car dies right away. It also has a new fuel filter, new a/c compressor. I'm at a lose with this car, hopefully somebody has an idea of what is wrong with it.

I would run a compression test on all 4 cylinders to start. If the car sat a long time i would put some injector cleaner/decarbon in the gas tank. ( Techron ) A bad injector is extremely rare. A spark tester will tell you if each cylinder is getting enough spark. The coil pack gets power with the key on but the PCM fires each cylinder by ground based on the CPS. I see an occasional bad PCM due to a shorted ignition coil pack. (fairly rare) Flammable brake cleaner will find any vacuum leaks. A close inspection of the spark plugs generally give a clue as to what is going on.

The car did sit for awhile before I got it. I'll run a compression test on it tomorrow. I used carb cleaner to spray around for any other vacuum leaks. I have also cleaned the throttle body and put injector cleaner in it.

Maybe drain the tank and refill it with clean fresh fuel. Pull the fuel filter off, drain it into a clean jar via the inlet end and see what the fuel looks like.

That's what I was thinking about doing next and changing the sock out.

I pulled the fuel pump out today and it looked like a small amount of sand in the bottom of the tank, so I pulled the pump housing apart and it was full of dirt. I cleaned everything out and put it back together and its still missing. Tomorrow I'll do a compression check. I just wish this car would throw me a code. After I cleaned everything up went back through the vacuum lines to make sure I didn't miss anything, all is good. I also unhooked one injector at a time and the motor started missing hard with each one.

Are you now running fresh fuel?

It has good fuel in it now.

I finally just stared driving it as is this weekend. It seems like it is burning a lot of gas. It doesn't matter what speed, when I put it in neutral when coming to a stop the idle drops to around 200 then pops back up. It has never stalled yet. It is a standard.

The fuel pump also sounds loader than it should be.
