Default window controls stop working

I'm having a strange problem. After an upgrade of front door speakers, made at the DLS dealer, the driver control of the passenger window stopped working. I took the car back to the DLS dealer thinking they had missed putting back some cord, but they could not solve the problem. I also wanted them to upgrade the rear speakers and after disconnecting the window controls once, then connecting again, they also stopped working from the drivers seat.

What to do?

Yes, that's the one. It seems that once you disconnect the cord in any of the passenger doors the central unit looses control. Also, the auto-function on the driver side is lost.

Give this a try and see if it works.

1. Turn ignition switch on.
2. Starting with the drivers side front door, operate the drivers power
window down to open window slightly, then back up. When the window
reaches the closed position continue to hold for a minimum of 3 seconds.
Release drivers power window switch.
3. Proceed to passengers front door and repeat step 2.
NOTE: MAZDASPEED VEHICLES REQUIRE ALL WINDOWS TO BE INTIALIZED.
INITIALIZE PASSENGER REAR WINDOW AFTER PASSENGER FRONT, THEN DRIVERS
REAR WINDOW.
4. After all windows have been initialized, turn ignition switch off and
back on.

sounds like what a mechanic would do with the car when he checks that everything works for the first time before the customer leaves off the dealer lot .

that makes me think ....... those switches with the auto up (instead of only down) ; do you think they would work on an 04-05 Mazda 6 . Here I am finding a new gadget to upgrade to with my six ... please say YES ..... that it's a plug and play

Wow, your local dealer didn't have a clue how to reset the auto windows? Anyways, anytime you disconnect the battery, you will also have to reset the auto windows.

For the windows to "un-initialize" just because the battery dies, or is disconnected: Is that unique to the Mazdaspeed cars, or do all of them do this? I have an '04 Mazda6 S wagon with the V6. If I disconnect the battery, will my windows "un-initialize" too? Thanks,

David
