Does 07 is much better in crash test (from Nhtsa) than 06? I am interesting in 07 4 doors 2.3 i valve edition or 06 2.3i with option side impact airbags and convience package. The equipment on both 2 cars are almost same except 06 has alarm and 07 has cd change. The price is differece about $1,000. What is the major improvment on 07 model? Could someone tell me? Thanks.

 

to start off. there is NO engine, transmission, or mechanical difference b/t 06 and 07 (hp/torque changed +/- 5 due to new SAE ratings)

the changes are VERY minor. including colors, exterior parts, etc
heres a few:

-- ALL 2007's come with 17' 5 spoke wheels with 215/50/17 tires. (2006 6i w/o sportspkg models had ugly 16' steel wheels)
-- ALL 2007's come with a 6 CD Changer (2006's was an option)
-- 2007's DO NOT come with a rear-deck spoiler. its now become an accessory (in 2006, it came with sportspkg like my 6)

Thank you. The only concern for me is 06 front side crash is only 3 stars and 07 is 4 stars according to safercar.gov (Nhtsa).
Look at 5 doors and wagon 06 all are 4 stars crash. What is safety rating for 4 doors with side airbags?

 

I believe Side airbags/curtains became standard for the 07MY. That should be the only difference in the NHTSA ratings.
