I've seen several posts about removing the entire center console, but i simply want to remove the LID from the upper compartment (the one above the radio). I have a portable DVD player that will fit perfectly in there, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

 

In order to remove the upper lid compartment you need to remove the center console covers between the seats and the entire audio/heater control unit as the two retaining screw for that upper console are behind the audio/heater unit. Probably would not want to anyway as you would have to break the hinge mechanism for the lid in order to remove it and would never be able to reinstall without purchasing a new one. The pivot for the hinge is pressed and glued into upper compartment and does not look like it would come apart without breaking.

 

probably getting the Navigating GPS option would ov'been more efficient lol
