Default Squeaking Brake Pedal?

Good morning,

I have an '04 Mazda6 Wagon, and I'm noticing the brake pedal to be very squeaky. I got down in the footwell and could tell that the squeak seemed to be coming from the "accordioned" rubber diaphram between the pedal lever and the firewall. I couldn't see anything that I could apply lithium grease to to make the squeak go away. Have any of you experienced this? Is there a known solution? Thanks,

David

Ihave same problem on '04 6S Sedan. I have not tried to oil the rubber boot...I just turn up the audio.

I will check back to see if others have same prob and if anyone has a quick fix.

Dan

Probably has something to do with the brake booster or the linkage between the pedal and the booter. At leas that's my guess. I guess the radio helps too.

Had the same deal on my 2005 wagon. Flushed the brake system, put in new fluid, problem solved!!

I lube the boot/grommet at the firewall about 2 times a year for this. [8D]It is tempurature sensative - hot weather really gets it going. A little silicon spray goes a long way and won't attract too much dust and dirt like heavy lubes do.
