SPEED6 handbrake locks overnight
 

When I releasemy handbrake in the morning and back out of the garage, I get a huge amount of resistance and suddenly itpops out with a thump and I can reverse. Dealer adjusted the handbrake cable and greased it but still happening. Will take it back in but curious if any of you had this happen? 2006 SPEED6.

The same thing happened to my M6s after it sat in the garage for 2 weeks, so from now on I leave it in gear if I know I'm not going to drive the car for an extended perioud of time.

If this happens everytime, it shouldn't but to say that its a big deal, its not.

What I would recomened is not to pull the hand brake all the way up, just a few clicks should keep the car from moving, unless its on a hill, I ususally leave it in gear and hand brake applied if its uphill.

One more thing is that this used to happen on my saturn a lot to a point where one day I could not get the car to move at all, had to replace both calipers.
