Angry Running REALLY rich with hesitation

I recently put on an AEM cold air intake and a cat-back magnaflow exhaust on my 05 mazda 6 6cyl. Ever since it has a bad hesitation in the lower RPMs and runs pegged on rich until about 4500 rpms. What the hell happened?

Did you disconnect the batt when you did the installs? If you did, how recently is recent? These car's ECUs sometimes take a bit to "learn" the mods so the car will run funny for a bit.

I don't have anything to offer, but I'm just curious to know what exactly you're referring to here...?

I'm assuming that Sketts has installed an A/F ratio gauge.

Ah, the dreaded CAI bug strikes again! If you fit a CAI without the requisite MAF adapter, the MAF calibration goes all to hell due to the change in intake aerodynamics.
If you're lucky you can contact the CAI supplier who can set you straight. You have to tell him the make, model, and year of car plus the engine type (sometimes even the engine serial no.) series.
If you're very lucky, you might even get the info from a website.

Not sure what MAF adaptor you are talking about Old Eng. The only CAI's that I know of that require the use of any sort of compensator for the MAF are the CPe and the Injen intakes. The AEM unit is the same as the MAZDASPEED one which are both built to be the stock diameter. I've been running my Mazdaspeed intake for 3 years or so now and have yet to have a CEL due to the intake.
