Replacement pads and rotors for 2004 Mazda 6?

What replacement rotors and pads have people been using for their 2004 Mazda 6's?

I havent done it yet, but I need too...I have been think the same thing...Some just used Rotora slotted and drilled rotors and hawk pads...Its one of the recent forums...

i dont know if this will help you much, but i just replaced the pads on my mazda 3s...in the front i mounted Hawk HP Plus Race brake pads, and in the rear i mounted Hawk HPS Street brake pads...i only got them mounted this recently passed friday so theyre not completely broken in yet but they already feel great! you might as well just keep the rotors you have on right now, they are very good quality, you just will most likely need to have them resurfaced.

FYI.....Getting rotors turned should cost ~ $12-15/rotor

I just recently replaced my rotors and pads and I am at 50K. I replaced it with Rotora crossed drilled and slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads, I also performed a brake flush. I have had them on for about 200 miles now and they feel great, and have low dust. I think in a few weeks I am probly gonna add some braided brake lines to help it stop a little better faster.

ive heard a lot of bad things about drilled rotors...they will start craking outwards from the circumference of the holes.

can anyone confirm this?

well, here is the confirmation...

drilling diminishes the rotors durability and cooling capacity.

MUST READ!!!!

this article is from the mazda3forums...very comprehensive, organized. this is stuff you definitely must know before you buy any new rotors.

That was very informative.
Another question: What about the science of turbos? I have a friend who is an engineer(petroleum) says turbos work using both the pressure of the exhaust AND the expansion of air/exhaust mass to drive the turbo propellers. I thought it was only the pressure of the exhaust and if you can reduce the heat entering the turbos from the exhaust, the "propeller" would be more effiecient and last longer. That is the reason for some cars to go w/rear mounted turbo(mentioned in another segment of this forum)
