Replaced OEM Tires

After 600 miles on my new '18 Mazda6 Signature, I was dissatisfied with the Falken Tires - unsure grip, especially in the wet, and braking was not impressive.

Living in Colorado, I've found that good A/S tires are my best choice year round (since I stopped having winter/summer tire/wheel sets years ago). On my last car, a Mk7 GTI, I had Michelin A/S 3+ and Conti ExtremeContact DWS06 in 18" and 19" sizes. I've always been a big fan of Michelins, but tried the Contis because the A/S 3+ wasn't available in the 19" size I needed. I was very surprised how good the Contis were - certainly a match or better than the Michelins.

On the Mazda6 19" wheels, I considered going up to 235/40 or 45 to add some width to the contact patch, but found that neither the Michelins nor Contis were available in those sizes. At the stock 225/40 size, both are available. I chose the Contis and after a few days I'm very happy with this choice - really in a different class than the Falken OEMs.

I know that opinions on tires are very subjective, so I can only say that for me the Contis are a big improvement in driving the 6.
