Default Rack and Pinion Installation

Hello Mazda forum! I am a new member making my first post on this site. My wife hit a curb in the last snow storm and bent the inner tie rod on my 2015 Mazda 6 Grand Touring. I though it would be a simple fix but after removing the tie rod I noticed that the rack and pinion is cracked and will also have to be replaced. I can't find a thing on the internet telling me if this job is possible to do myself or would it require dropping the front axel to switch out these parts.

Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

It involves removing the whole front subframe/cross member. Not a simple job.
