Hi all

I need some info or link to a manual for my Mazda 6. 2009 GH. R2AA Engine, I am installing a new timing chain and balance shaft/oil pump chain and need the procedur for timing the balance shaft to the crank

From memory, the balance shaft assembly ( two shafts) are gear driven off the crankshaft.

As long as the four shims are returned to their original positions, you will be ok.
As to the rotational position of the two balance shafts, the dots/marks need to be at 180 degrees. ( downwards position)

 

My Balance shaft is chain driven from the crank, I have managed to figure it out, and its now back in one piece and running better than ever
