Default question.

hello there peeps new here: i have a question.

i have a 2005 mazda6iand one day last week i was about to start my car and for some reason the key would not go in the ignition at all, i tried moving the steering wheels around and tried to insert the key into the ignition but to on avail. the key would just not go in..now the dealership said somebody was trying to steal my car but there was no force entry or anything that would indicate that somebody was attempting to steal the car. could this have something to do with the keys transmitter or does it lock up after 4 years of owning the car. im just puzzled why it got stuck like that...now to replace the whole ignition cylinder w/ new keys it will cost me 700 bucks. any advice/help/or info would be appreciated.

Happy Holidays!!

Default RE: question.

i have an 05 as well and that has happened to me once..ive only had the car for 4 months and when that happened it was just the steering wheel lock. it is a little rigid and took me about 15 minutes to get it unlocked. hopefully with some more work you should get it unlocked. if you cant i would get a second opinion on the ignition replacement..those dealerships and repair companies will tell you anything to make a buck so i would get at least one or two other opinions. good luck!
