programming keyless entry remote for 2005 Mazda 6

I have 2005 Mazda 6; manual transmission - 5 speed; 2.3L engine. Just bought a new keyless entry remote control, and do not know how to program it. Can anyone please help. Thank you in advance.

Do you have a keyless entry system where you can keep you key in your pocket and turn the knob to start your car or do you have the key fob where you can unlock and lock your car with it kind of like a viper system but oem?

I have the remote that opens/closes doors and the trunk, as well as the Panic/alarm button.

sit in the drivers seat with all the doors closed.

open the drivers side door

cycle the key from the off to on position 3 times. end with off. leave the key in the ignition

within 20 second hit the door button 3 times. its a black button on the bottom of the b pillar

the locks will click back and forth once if you did it right.

hit any button on the remote you are trying to program twice

remote will then be programmed

repeat for any additional remotes
