open y-split
 

this friday im taking the mufflers out. im gonna run with an "open y-split"

for those of u who dont kno (or dont look under their cars). the y-split is located somewhere between ur 2 rear wheels. it comes after the catalyst and resonator, meaning technically. im not doing anything illegal. except for the fact it will be deafeningly loud ;)

so if u see a mazda6 without any exhaust tips, but is loud as hell. thats me lol

just got the mufflers out. BOTH of em ;)

its hell loud. but quieter then i expected (for a car without mufflers)
it sounds VERY similar to a 06 Stang GT. thers a loudass low end rumble.
i shifted at 4000 rpm right next to a cop today. he didnt say anything.

im surprised people dont do this. its a FREE exhaust upgrade. it sounds nice and the revs rise considerably faster, especially past 3000.

took me 20 mins with some friends. u guys should definatlely do this.

That sounds pretty cool. I thought about doing that, but Im not real big on loud cars so I just put mufflers with the stock pipe. It's a deep loud. Plus I just pulled over for excessive noise and I wasn't even going over 20MPH. That cop just wanted to be a dick.

BUSTED TODAY[:@] for "illegal exhaust"

i was drag racing a couple friends in front of a movie thearter last night.
cop was being a dick cause everyone was doin illegal **** (kids sellin weed, speedin, racing, etc)

$54 dollars. paid it on the spot. mufflers goin back on tonight.
the cops said if i get cited for no-mufflers another time. $250+ fine.

UGHH. i miss the VRRRROOOM sound :(

Yeah, I had a cherry bomb glass pack installed where the resoniator used to be and took off the mufflers where it Y'ed out. Sounds soooo good, people are amazed at the sound of it and how it is very deep for a 4 cyl. Power increases are great as well, not as good as a cat-back, but for a $30 dollar glass pack compared to a $400-$500 dollar cat, the sound is awesome. I promise you will love the sound, it sounds like the eclipse on The F&F but a tad bit deeper. Been driving around with them off for about 6 months now and cops haven't said anything to me, as long as you keep your cataylic on, your fine. Definately recommend trying it before you go in on $500.

bro its not really loud at all with no mufflers.. i had a straight pipe setup for a while without problems. cept i had the shop cut off the magnaflow tips and put them on the straight pipes so it looked like an actual exhaust.

Make that noise louder, dude. Just be careful with the cops.
