2004 mazda 6i hatchback 2.3L
Got my oil changed today and the mechanic who did it showed me the black screw on oil filter cartridge/cap whatever it is and said whoever was doing my previous oil changes stripped the hex shape off the oil filter cap and it needed to be replaced because it cannot be tightened securely. Does ANYONE know where i can find this part besides going to a dealership? anything online. i cannot find anything

is a pretty straight foreward process to install the screw on filter kit. i am pretty car savvy but when it comes to engine/transmission work i leave that up to a mechanic.

 

It can be done by anyone with mechanical know how. Just a few simple hand tools.
