Hi, I have a 2007 Mazda 6 Wagon. I want to put some 16" wheels for my winter tires. The size is 205/60/16 and the offset of the mag is 45mm. The original 18" summer tires on the car are 60mm.

Will the 45mm offset on 16" wheels work?

I would think they would fit fine, getting close, but they should work, especially with the narrower 205 tires.....That offset would movethe outeredge ofyour tires~15mm further "out" of the wheelwell.....stock offset is 60mm on a 7" wide rim.

Take a look at your car and put a ruler to the outside of the tire to see where that puts you with respect to the inner edge of the wheelwell.

I'm running 18x8 RX-8 wheels with 225/45R18 on my wife's wagon and have never rubbed (not sure what the offset is on these wheels.)

is there a site where I can confirm that 45mm offset 16" mags will be fine. I am using 205/60/16 winter tires.

No sitethat I know of. The only real way to confirm is to have one mounted up and try it out. Some sites will say "oh yeah, that will fit fine" in order to sell you some wheels/tires.

Like I said above...if you're talking a 7" wide wheel with a 45mm offset (vs stock 60mm), you just need to look at the clearance on the rear tires at the 12 o'clock position where it would rub on the inside edge of the fender. I'm 95% sure you'd be OK with those wheels and the 205 width tire. You are going 15mm further toward the fender because of the offset, but you are taking 5mm off of the width (to the outside of the tire) by going with a 205 rather than a 215.

Only way to be 100% is to mount one up.

Closest I can give you to a site like that is ths offset calculator a buddy of mine sent me a link to a while back. http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
It won't give you a straight up, yes or no answer, but it will tell you the difference in space between your current wheels and the steel ones ur looking at. Hope it helps!
