Do you have the HID headlights? If so, it might be the headlight adjuster that angles them up and down. Does it stay on the whole time the headlights are on?

Yep do have the hid headlights...and the odd thing is that today noticed the noise on both sides now....

I tried the dial for the headlight adjuster in the car the motor runs to adjust and the sound stops.

This other noise just keeps going.

Im just reading a post in Google Groups about a Honda Civic the content of which seems similar to what Im experiencing, the post suggests that the motor is "hunting" for a rest postion

and yes the noise stays on the whole time the lights are on...mind you a well positioned fist to the side of the headlamp assembly stops it
