New 2014 Mazda 6 Wagon Revealed

Sales of the Mazda 6 wagon will begin in Europe later this year; "There are no plans to bring the Mazda 6 Wagon to the U.S.

The Mazda 6 wagon features the new Skyactiv-D 2.2-liter clean diesel engine. Mazda said the diesel engine will be available in either Standard Power or High Power versions. :)

The new Mazda6 is the flagship model for a new generation of Mazda products. It incorporates the very best of Mazda's craftsmanship and technical expertise across all domains, from dynamic performance and design, through to environmental performance and safety. It is the second of Mazda's new generation of products which incorporate both the full range of SKYACTIV technologies and the new KODO – Soul of Motion design theme. It also features a range of advanced safety technologies and Mazda's unique brake energy regeneration system, i-ELOOP.

I like the chrome around the windows. Wish they came on my 2006 Wagon!

That's OK, mine will last another 6 years at least! :p
I see they took off the door guards, nice body contour @ bottom of door. Really changed the front end. The rear side window looks more sleek. You can really see the differences with my 2006 Wagon similar pic right below it!

This vehicle is available now in Japan along with the Sedan.
The engine line-up includes the SKYACTIV-D 2.2, a highly-efficient and powerful new-generation clean diesel engine. The SKYACTIV-D 2.2 clean diesel engine model delivers maximum torque of 420 N-m, comparable to that of a 4.0-liter V8 gasoline engine, and it remains quiet even at high speed. The 6-speed SKYACTIV-MT manual transmission is available with diesel engine models so drivers can enjoy a crisp shift feel.

Mazda using wind turbine Electric Double Layer Capacitors to improve fuel efficiency. Mazda is working on a new braking system called i-ELOOP. It captures energy from the vehicle's inertia and produces an electric charge from the alternator just as the driver lets off the gas pedal. This energy is captured quickly in a Electric Double Layer Capacitor, which are commonly found in wind turbines. The system will debut on the 2014 Mazda6 and is part of the company's Skyactiv fuel-economy boosting efforts. Under the most optimal conditions (i.e., when running every imaginable battery-draining component in the car), Mazda's new system can boost fuel economy by as much as 10 percent. More typically, though, fuel economy will increase by about one mile per gallon.

Can't find any reviews on the Wagon as it is still unlikely to be available in USA.

This Europena 2014 Mazda6 station Wagon with the very most recent 2.2-liter SkyActiv-D Turbo Diesel motor good for 148 horsepower and healthy 280 pound-feet of torque. The wee four-banger with 14.0:1 compression ratio hauls this 3,260-pound wagon around with the best of them. A decent 0-to-60-mph time of 8.7 seconds, too.
Best touch? This one had the standard six-speed manual gearbox.
The Mazda6's rear suspension setup's lateral arms do not, as many do, err forward and higher than the wheel hub. Instead they attach low, below the wheel center. This results in an extremely sporting attitude over twisty roads as the arms push at the rear wheel down lower and closer to the center line. This was most noticeable on track.
NO wagons are promised for the US
