Mazda6 Safety Recall for Powertrain Control
Two months ago I spent £900 having a serious issue corrected on my Mazda6 Sport Nav. The fuel injectors had developed a fault that was blowing carbon into the engine and had clogged the sump strainer. Mazda had it for a couple of weeks and eventually sorted it after open wallet surgery.
The symptoms of the fault were that the car would go into limp mode and stall if pushed too hard (ie. not very hard) to protect the engine.
Lo and behold, a few weeks later I'm getting a safety recall which says "this recall requires the powertrain module fitted to your vehicle to be reprogrammed, in order to protect your engine from developing a fuel injector fault which in turn may lead to the engine stalling"..!
My question is - do I have some comeback here? Can I hit Mazda with a refund request? Anybody been in this situation before?
