Mazda 6 ts just gone bang possible DMF
 

HI ive just joined the forum to look for help and share my problem with you.

Ive got a mazda 6 ts 2003 with 96k on the clock. Not owned the car long but the other day i noticed some pulsing in the clutch pedal, then at the weekend came knocking noise, noise changing while using the clutch and loud in 1st and 2nd gear after that seemed fine. ive bin away in the car and thought i check it over when i was home as i'd class myself very handy with a spanner, my thoughts were the DMF was breaking down, anyway 8miles from home noise gets loud and bang lost all drive but the worry for me is it shut the engine down, ive changed 2 DMF's on other car that have failed and apart from 1 cracking the casing ive never had it lock the engine.

so my question is was it the DMF or has the engine gone bang. has any1 had the same kind of thing. i'm not sure when i can get the car home and start to investigate, probably start by taking starter off.
