Like any platform it all depends on how the owner took care of it. First run the VIN history at a dealership and see if the owner(s) kept up on the basic service history. Then ask the owner if they have any service records. Naturally a full visual inspection and test drive to see, feel and hear any unusual concerns or questionable and other information. If it is an automatic and over 100k miles very important to know when did the last transmission basic transmission oil pan fluid and filter service performed?
Aside from that it no different than any other vehicles it's all about what you can find out and if you do find something if you want to invest in a pre-purchase service inspection.
Not sure in your country but you can find on the internet any related TSB from Mazda and any safety recalls.
I would not place to much worth in internet problems reported by owners they are generally not educated mechanics at best a DIY and not the best source for full accurate information.
