Hi All,

I have a 2007 Mazda 6 Luxury Sport. The paint has gone patchy on the roof, hood and hatch back. It looks like the lacquer is peeling off.

Apparently this is a known issue. Does anyone know if you can T cut, or polish it out? I am trying to sell the car and it makes it look bad. I was quoted $1500 cash to fix the paintwork.

On base coat/clear coat paint finishes, it is a common issue as the paint ages, especially in sunny & hot environments. I am not sure what type of paint the factory used, but it could have even been a waterborne paint as well.
