I might know the answer to this but I've search & searched and can't find examples of the warning sounds the Mazda 6 uses (2014).

We were driving a VERY hilly road and were about to come out of a dip and go up a hill when we heard a horrific sound unlike anything we've heard in terms of a warning. We think it must have been the sound it makes when it thinks you're about to collide with something at high speed but we're not positive.

If this is true, is this part of the car's warning system or navigation or??? It freaked us out when it happened and we had NO idea why it was doing it. The car was only 2 months old so we weren't totally familiar with everything.

Wish there was a place to go to hear examples of the warning sounds!! Kind of hard to intentionally "almost collide" with something so as to replicate the situation....

 

It could be that you were at such a angle that the radar sensed the sharp road angle and thought it was another car ready to collide with.

Did you see any warning lights?

 

Hubby was driving and we didn't see any warning lights - not that there weren't any - only that our eyes were on the road wondering what the heck was happening!
