just got ipod neo for '04 mazda6 - install. help?
 

no installation information came w/ the neo -- nor do they have any on their website (only a user's guide) And, was directed to another website (dension) for installation/configuration info, but they had none. does anyone else have the neo installed in their 2004 6?

I found a site w/ info about how to pull off the center console, but am not sure where the neo connects--haven't attempted to pull it off and take a look yet. It may be obvious when I get it pulled off, but I don't know that I want to rip apart my car without knowing.

ok, pulled off the console -- btw, there is a big difference in removing a console w/ manual vs. auto transmission -- if you are curious, let me know (post a reply here) and I'll give details.

plugged in the ipod adapter.

what happened:

ipod recognized adapter, but the mazda stereo didn't. anyone have codes to tell the stereo to look for the aux in?

Here is your fix. I have done this mod on my 04 Mazda 6 and it works fine. Just be careful soldering the board on your HU. Let me know if you have any problems or questions.

Is there an easy way to hook an ipod shuffle to the mazda head unit on a 2005?

Not that I know of. Better off to buy an Ipod and then purchase an Icelink from Neo Car Audio and connect to your stock HU that way.

I have a question, what about if you get those plug'ns for cigarette charger, to run your ipod does that work? Or do you have to have a special adapter?
